Bethan Brown

Bethan started playing the baritone at the age of 8 at the Leicestershire Co-op Training Band, quickly progressing to solo baritone. At the age of 11 Bethan joined Youth Brass 2000 and again soon moved into the solo baritone seat, a seat she still holds today. At 12 years old she joined both Foresters Brass 2000 and the National Children's Brass Band of Great Britain, where she has held the solo baritone seat for the last 3 years also being asked to act as a mentor in 2014. At 14 Bethan also joined the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain on 1st Baritone.

When not playing with a band Bethan competes in many solo competitions throughout England. In 2014 she won prizes at all 8 national competitions, many of them 1st places, both in her own age group and also in adult sections.

Bethan hopes to study at the Royal Northern College of Music where her teacher Steven Mead holds a Professorial chair. Bethan hopes one day to be a professional musician with one of the Army Bands.
